New Store and Name Change!
Well, there have been some subtle hints over the past couple months, but we haven't really announced this officially...
Kitesource.ca is now operating as Soul Session Sports Inc., an Alberta incorporated company.
Why?
Well, it's twofold actually. First off we wanted to incorporate for liability and financial reasons and second we want to gradually start carrying gear for other lifestyle sports and Kitesource is / was pretty limiting, if only in name.
Where did the name Soul Session come from?
Back in 2005 when Erin and I were still just learning the ropes, we found ourselves in Coche, Venezuela... days after the PKRA event. We got to watch many of the top kiteboarders in the world, and even got to meet and party with some of them. But we both felt that watching these riders paled in comparison to watching Chris Valentine of Coche Kite Sport or World Kiteboarding ride during the sunset after everyone had left the Island for the day. He was inspirational, a truly smooth and entertaining rider to watch. One evening we spoke with Chris about riding in the evening like he did every night and how good it must feel to have a typically crowded place like this all to himself. He responded that this was when he "recharged", it was riding just for himself, not worrying about whether anyone was watching and judging his skills (very few kiters actually stay on Coche overnight)... it was his Soul Session!
Erin and I were both inspired, and to this day are always chasing our own Soul Sessions.
